Description

The Perdido River forms the border between Florida and Alabama. This 24-miles canoe trail gently curves past forests of pine and cypress. The sand bottom is visible through the clear water, and large white sandbars are numerous along bends in the river. Around any curve you might see wildlife, such as turtles piled one on top of each other sunning on a log, or a deer or turkey coming for a drink. Several small ponds or sloughs hidden along the banks provide additional paddling opportunities.
