Pelicans
The pelicans scattered around downtown Pensacola can turn into a fun scavenger hunt. Looking for something different to do? No problem, just find all the pelicans and make an afternoon of it. We've even got a Pelican Passport which is an interactive experience invites you to discover and track the pelican statues scattered throughout our destination.
Each pelican has its own theme and name. There is the Mermaids in Paradise Pelican, as shown above, Pelikini in the Visitor Information Center, and Homer at the Wahoos Stadium - to name a few. Many pelicans can be seen in Downtown Pensacola, but they're scattered everywhere from Perdido Key, to NAS, to North Pensacola and Pensacola Beach.
Veterans Memorial Park
Located along Romana and bayfront, Veterans Memorial Park is a place of healing, to honor and remember our fallen heroes. There are 13 monuments, with several sculptures as well as a wall of remembrance. These monumental structures are complemented by an array of sculptures, each capturing the essence of bravery and resilience.
Whether you seek to explore the rich history or pay heartfelt homage to those who have given their lives in service, Veterans Memorial Park welcomes you with open arms.
