The University of West Florida Historic Trust is excited to bring environmental installation artist Konstantin Dimopolous to Pensacola to install his environmental call to action, The Blue Trees: Environmental Installation. The trees along Zaragoza Street between Tarragona and Jefferson Streets and in Museum Plaza will be transformed into an environmental art installation. The participatory nature of the installation invites the community to become, in essence, an artist while generating discussions on environmental issues.
The goals of the Blue Trees are to use art to raise awareness about deforestation and the importance of trees to people, all living creatures, and their environment; and, to engage local communities in art. The community is invited to participate in the installation of The Blue Trees with the artist as well as several partnering events. Kids can learn more about trees at the MESS Hall. Enjoy a special Buzzed Brew Blue Trees themed coffee as you stroll through the installation.

Join Konstantin Dimopoulos and the UWF Historic Trust as we install, The Blue Trees: Environmental Installation, in downtown Pensacola for Foo Foo Fest 2024! This call to environmental action takes our downtown urban landscape and makes it surreal, because there are no naturally occurring blue trees, to draw attention to global deforestation and the need to protect our natural resources. The chalk based pigment is safe for the trees, bugs, birds, humans, and waterways. FAQ’s below.
