Airport Updates
As you might have seen, we officially renamed Pensacola International Airport to Pensacola Intergalactic Airport in honor of this year’s Pensacon pop culture festival.
In addition to temporarily renaming the airport, we also upgraded some of our decorations to make sure that the Jedis, Klingons, Power Rangers, Clone Troopers, animes, superheroes, and everyone else feels a warm “Gateway to the Gulf Coast” welcome.
We were thrilled to see that Pensacon 2022 set another record for attendance, beating their Summer 2021 record of more than 30,000 attendees. This is an exciting partnership for us and we always look forward to welcoming Pensacon guests, attendees, and cosplayers to Pensacola.

Fly Easy
By the Numbers
We knew last year was busy, and we’re glad for the rebound after the COVID-induced travel slump of 2020. But now, the numbers are in and we actually broke our own passenger records set in 2019!
From January to December 2021, 87,197 more passengers came through PNS than in 2019, for a total of 2,324,044 passengers. We’re grateful for your support, and for all travelers who chose to fly with us.
But wait, there’s more!
Based on a study by ValuePenguin, airfare prices are down 20% nationwide since the onset of the COVID pandemic. In addition, Pensacola International was tied with Newark for the airports with the lowest fares in the country.
That’s just one more way we’re trying to help you Fly Easy when you Fly Pensacola. Click here to read the full story.
