Visit Pensacola & PBS A Taste of History Present
A Gathering on the Gulf Celebrity Chef Tasting
Tickets Now on Sale; Proceeds to Benefit UWF Historic Trust
Pensacola, FL – Visit Pensacola, in partnership with PBS’s A Taste of History, announced today that tickets are on sale for A Gathering on the Gulf Celebrity Chef Tasting.
On September 29, A Taste of History Celebrity Chef Walter Staib will join Pensacola chefs Irv Miller (Jackson’s Steakhouse), Blake Rushing (Union Public House), and Gus Silivos (Agapi Bistro + Garden) for a one-night-only Gulf-to-Table tasting. During the tasting, guests will get an exclusive first look at the series episode featuring Pensacola while dining on the same dishes prepared during the filming.
A Taste of History is a series that combines documentary-style history television with a classic cooking show format, where host Chef Walter Staib joins local chefs and historians to learn about each location's culinary heritage and highlights its popular destinations.
In the episode, Chef Walter Staib travels to Pensacola, Florida, to learn of the centuries-long struggle to control this strategic region in the Gulf. Chef Staib teams up with three revered chefs to cook some local favorites over an open hearth. The new season will broadcast to the public on October 1 on PBS stations and Amazon Prime.
Tickets to the event are $200 and will benefit the UWF Historic Trust. The event is for 21 and over and is a set menu that includes seafood. Those with seafood or shellfish sensitivities or allergies should refrain from attending as there will be no substitutions.
