Visit Pensacola Set to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of National Travel & Tourism Week May 7-13; Public Invited to Attend Events

Pensacola, Fla. – Visit Pensacola is gearing up to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, the national annual celebration of the contributions of the U.S. travel industry. Visit Pensacola would like to encourage the Pensacola community, tourism industry, and area stakeholders to participate in daily events and nominate industry members for the Hospitality Hero Awards.
Why nominate a Hospitality Hero? Now in its eighth year, the Visit Pensacola Hospitality Awards Ceremony and Luncheon aims to honors five deserving hospitality and tourism employees that are exceeding in the community. If you’ve received exceptional service from someone in the lodging, shopping, transportation, attractions/venues, or dining/restaurants business, please nominate them by Monday, April 24. The winners will be announced on Thursday, May 11, at the Hospitality Hero Award Ceremony and Luncheon. Tickets are available here.
Hospitality Hero Olympics: Monday, May 8, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Join Visit Pensacola at Pensacola Blue Wahoo Stadium to kick off the week cheering on your favorite tourism businesses in Escambia County. 12 teams will battle for the Spirit of Hospitality Cup by competing in a series of relay races. A complimentary ballpark lunch will follow.
Tourism Gives Back Community Cleanup at Park West: Wednesday, May 10, 9-11 a.m. Tourism Gives Back is a day for the industry and community to come together to care for the destination we know and love. This year, Visit Pensacola will be hosting a cleanup at Park West on Pensacola Beach. The ECUA Quench Buggy will be onsite. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable drinking vessel. Cleanup supplies will be provided by Our Corner.
Visitor Information Center Open Houses: Friday, May 12, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Visit Pensacola is excited to invite Pensacola residents to explore the visitor information centers. While widely known for visitor information, the centers have valuable resources to explore and enjoy Escambia County. Visit Pensacola will have complimentary sweet treats, new Insider Guides, and destination resources.
Americas First Settlement Trail Urban Adventure: Saturday, May 13Join Visit Pensacola and the America’s First Settlement Trail Foundation for the inaugural Urban Trail Adventure. Facilitated through Gogames, participants will meet in Plaza Ferdinand and be given a tiered start time between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and three hours to complete a game that explores the America’s First Settlement Trail, solves puzzles, and tests knowledge of Pensacola’s history. Following the games, an afterparty at Voices of Pensacola will include refreshments and awards. To get tickets, click here.
