Get your day started early! Perdido Key has a pristine coastline and is also home to Johnson Beach, part of Gulf Islands National Seashore. Johnson Beach is a must see while you're there! Perdido Key State Park is also another beautiful way to experience Perdido Key.
Looking to get off the beach? Head to a restaurant to try some of the coastal cuisine at Salty Pearl Raw Bar, The Jellyfish Restaurant and Bar, or Lillian's Pizza. Start your day on Pensacola Beach with a beautiful sunrise. Head to the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier or simply find a quiet spot along the coast to witness the sun break the horizon over the Gulf of Mexico.
Then, set up your beach spot, soak up the sun, and take a nice dip in the water. Whether you're into shelling, sandcastle building, or simply lounging with a good book, Pensacola Beach has it all. Not to mention - Fort Pickens at Gulf Islands National Seashore is here too. It's a must see and has history dating back to the 19th century. Exploring the forts and structures make for a great history lesson and fun photoshoot if you're looking for a good spot!
When on Pensacola Beach, you've got to check out the coastal cuisine. Several restaurants await, from The Grand Marlin to Flounder's - both delicious with great views. During your adventure you've also got to stop by the Sandshaker and try a Bushwacker - Home of the original Bushwacker for over 30 years. A trip to Pensacola isn't complete without tasting this tasty frozen treat.
Check out some of the local shopping along the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, and get ready to take in a gorgeous sunset, paddle the night away at Glow Paddle, play a round of goofy golf at UFO's, hit the adventure courses at Laguna's, or go out and experience nightlife on Pensacola Beach! Pensacola is known as the Cradle of Aviation and Home of the Blue Angels. NAS Pensacola is open to the public to visit, along with the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, and our US Navy Blue Angels.
The National Naval Aviation Museum is a must visit. It's home to more than 4,000 artifacts and over 150 beautifully restored aircraft that represent Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. Be sure to add this into your trip - it will leave you with a newfound understanding and appreciation for all things Naval Aviation.
Now depending on when you're in Pensacola, there could be an opportunity to see the Blue Angels fly. There are practices on select Tuesdays and Wednesdays between March and October, so be sure to check the practice schedule to see if any of the dates line up with your trip. In addition to the scheduled practices, the Blue Angels perform two air shows right here in Pensacola. The Pensacola Beach Blue Angels Airshow takes place in July and the Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow occurs early November to close out their season. These shows are phenomenal - be sure to plan in advance if you choose to come for either show.
Don't forget about the Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum - also located at NAS Pensacola. Boasting beautiful 360 views, the lighthouse has 177 steps and was built in 1969. Once you get to the top, you will see views of Pensacola Pass, the Navy Yard, and three different historic forts. Don't forget to bring your camera!
