Pick any spot on either side of the island, let the Santa Rosa Island Authority know the location, date, time, and approximately how many people in attendance-no permit is required.
Planning a wedding on the beaches of Pensacola is a breeze. Imagine a beautiful backdrop, the sound of the waves, and sand between your toes while you say "I do!" The beaches in Pensacola provide a beautiful setting, perfect for an intimate gathering or larger ceremony. Your beach wedding dreams will come true in Pensacola!
Be sure to check below for beach wedding guidelines and applications for your beach wedding.
- NO area of the public beach can be reserved or roped off *including beach access, sand paths or walkovers
- Arch, runners and chairs are permitted *ceremony area must be at least 30' from beach access; stay off sand dunes
- NO open flames, tiki torches are permitted
- NO wish lanterns
- NO generators
- NO glass
- NO pets outside of the designated dog beach areas
- Please DO NOT drop artificial flower petals or release balloons
- Tents and/or canopies larger than 10’x12’ require a permit from SRIA and the Escambia County

For beachfront weddings, a small ceremony on the beach at one of four public beach access points on Perdido Key does not require a permit, provided there is no impact on other beach goers. For a larger wedding, Johnson Beach located in the Gulf Islands National Seashore, with gorgeous white sand beaches, covered pavilions and many other amenities is a great option. For information on fees and permit requirements contact the National Park Service at 850-934-2600.
You might also consider a picturesque beach location at one of our many vacation resort condominiums or private beach vacation home rental. Just be sure to check with your rental agency as requirements may vary from one property to another.
